A few weeks passed til we were able to get the evaluation on Ethan completed! It was very hard waiting. During this time I found great comfort in my family and friends, knowing that prayers were being sent up for us and Ethan.
But finally it was done....the school called to let us know and to set up a meeting where we would discuss all that needs to happen next!
In this meeting we were surrounded by people that obviously knew all kinds more about this stuff than we did....and I was scarred to death! Everyone was super nice and explained thing very well....Ethan is definitely autistic! He scored on their rating scale under the severe category!!!!! I was floored! We had no idea that it could be this serious! But we knew God is in control and all will be as its suppose to be!
We are waiting now to get Ethan in at the Center in Louisville Ky to have more testing done to find out what is gonna work best for him in his learning process!
They told us that it could be 1 month to Sept. before he could be seen there....so we wait once again....But I know that all things are gonna work together for the good of those who love the Lord!!! And we trust the Lord!
Please remember to keep us in your prayers !

The News
I don't really know where to start. The teacher came up to us one afternoon, as we were picking up our two kids from school, and asked to speak to us for a moment. A lot of things crossed my mind....like, oh no what has he gotten into now, but he's only in 1st grade so it couldn't be to bad. Right?! Well the teacher told us that she suspected Ethan(our 8yr.old) of being autistic! Wow, what a shock! We really didn't know much about it but it just didn't sound good.
She asked that we give permission to have him evaluated....and of course we did!
I rushed home, very upset, wondering what I could have done wrong! I search everything there was to know about autism on the internet and soaked in as much info as I could.
As much as I read it was still hard to understand all that, that one word Autism holds! There is so many different kinds and types. So we prayed and waited for the evaluation!
